the boho life
"I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

- Robert Frost
An unconventional aesthetic inspired by nature and global travel. A warm, deeply artistic, lived-in feel featuring natural materials like wood, clay, plants, layered textures, and a mix of vintage, handmade, and unique items.
A relaxed mindset emphasizing creativity and individuality, The freedom to express yourself without judgement, a resolve to embrace the things you love and the beliefs you hold. An internal state of contentment and well-being through appreciation of the simple and most meaningful things in life.

what is
boho?

Boho is the casual word for Bohemian. Historically, Bohemian referred to the marginalized Romani people, falsely believed to originate from Bohemia, and known for their unconventional nomadic lifestyle. The term bohemianism later emerged in France as a social and cultural movement, advocating lifestyles that were different from the norms and expectations of traditional European society. Lifestyles adopted heavily by artists, writers, musicians; the philosophical intellectuals of the day.
Bohemianism is always going to be woven with a thin thread of controversy over non-conformity and cultural misrepresentation. I acknowledge it. But I also think it's beautiful to embrace individuality and honor cultural diversity to the best of our ability, so my heart settles peacefully into all the beautiful aspects of a boho life. Creativity, simplicity and contentment, quiet learning and self development, wholistic wellness, appreciation of nature, experiencing other cultures through travel, and contributing some amount of light and love into the world as we pass through. This is the beauty of boho.

"For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come."
- Hebrews 13:14

creativity
Creativity is often considered one of the core values of a boho lifestyle. Boho communities were historically associated with writers, musicians, and artists, and boho souls do cherish art, music, writing, and a wide range of creative hobbies. But boho creativity isn't just about being an artist, it's about approaching life as a form of self-expression, celebrating originality, imagination, and the idea that ordinary life, and ordinary people, can be extraordinarily creative, each in our own unique way.
